The management of Shri Akola Gujarati Samaj is conscious of its obligation and commitment to the society. The ocean of knowledge and education is unfathomable. The globalization policy has thrown numerous challenges and opened the new vistas of opportunities for the academic world. Education is the key to progress and development. Therefore, the private sector has to work hand-in-hand with the public sector in educating the masses. It is a recognized fact that “Knowledge is power”, and, therefore, 21st century has been dedicated to “Knowledge”.
Realising its responsibility of providing better educational facilities to the masses, the management has procured a 7 acre piece of land just near Akola city. The management feels that there is a need and demand for a Physiotherapy College, a Polytechnic College and an Engineering College in the surrounding region. Vidarbha is a poverty ridden backward region with minimal facilities. No facility worth its name is available in the region in these areas of education. The management proposes to provide these educational facilities to the masses. It is a well known fact that the private managements are thriving mainly on the philanthropy of generous people of the society. The management has made a provision of land but for providing infrastructural and other facilities, funds to the tune of about ` 10 crore are required. The management is campaigning to raise the required funds and needs help and encouragement from all quarters. It makes a fervent appeal to the munificent benefactors to donate generously for this noble cause.
